MIDDLE FEN & MERE INTERNAL DRAINAGE BOARD

The Board is seeking to appoint an ASSISTANT ENGINEER to provide support in its Engineering Department. The Board is responsible for the management of land drainage operations over a large area of the Cambridgeshire Fens. The work will include involvement in a number of areas to include survey, design, construction works, mechanical engineering and water level control and management. The position would suit a highly motivated person who can work as part of a team or take responsibility for tasks assigned to them. The successful applicant must be able to react to an emergency situation. If applicants do not possess, or are in the process of obtaining qualifications in Civil Engineering or in an associated field, training/support will be given. Computer skills would be essential. Starting salary will be dependent upon age and qualifications.
