Assistant to the Director of the Bell Foundation (part-time)

The Bell Foundation is part of the Bell Educational Trust and is responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious programme of charitable work.  We are a new charity and are working to overcome exclusion through language education.  We are now looking for a flexible and self-motivated individual with a commitment to the charity sector to assist the Director of the Foundation.  This is an opportunity to work in an exciting new charity in its start up phase.

You will be responsible for supporting the development of projects and plans for the Foundation, by providing secretarial and administrative support to the Director and Trustees, and supporting a variety of projects.

Your role will involve providing effective administrative support for Trustees meetings including co-ordinating meeting arrangements, preparing agendas, distributing papers and taking minutes.  You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining filing systems, organising and maintaining the Director’s diary, arranging appointments, and dealing with correspondence.  Along with providing administrative support, you will act as a point of contact for enquiries about the Foundation and its work, ensuring that enquiries are answered accurately and promptly.   

With strong organisational and administrative skills, you will have experience working in a comparable role supporting a Board or senior management.  Experience of administration systems, diary management and minute taking are essential, along with strong ICT skills, including word-processing, excel and database applications.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels, be flexible, self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative. This is a part time role (25 hours per week).

Annual salary:    £18,064 - £22,581 pro rata (dependent on experience)
